STORM RECOVERY ALERT, SUNDAY, MAY 19, 2024--The majority of Downtown has reopened and Downtown Houston+ Cleaning and Safety Ambassadors have returned to regular schedules. Road closures for a few blocks will continue until pedestrian and traffic access is deemed safe, but the majority of Downtown is open for business. “Human Rights” highlights Houston’s strong commitment to ensuring freedom, peace and social justice for all, as well as its constant efforts to fight human trafficking. This powerful symbol depicts, Amy, a Latino girl from the community bareback and barefoot riding a wild horse as she whips her lasso above her head. As the new lone ranger of Houston she harnesses freedom and makes sure Houston stays a safe place.
