Houston, TX – A respected name in seafood restaurants is casting a line in downtown Houston. Houstonians will have their chance to taste more than 30 varieties of fresh seafood when McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant opens its doors at the Houston Pavilions on Monday, November 3rd. It will be the second McCormick & Schmick's in the city and the fifth in the state. “We’re excited to be a part of the growing momentum in downtown Houston, especially at a place like the Houston Pavilions, which has created a unique downtown environment filled with entertainment, retail and dining options for visitors,” said Doug Schmick, president and co-founder of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. “The top-notch downtown Houston team we’ve hired for this location is sure to impress diners.” The 9,000 square-foot Houston Pavilions McCormick & Schmick's restaurant is located at 1201 Fannin Street, right in the heart of the brand new Houston Pavilions. It will have seating for more than 260, including approximately 50 for private dining and 60 at the bar. McCormick & Schmick's menu changes twice daily, according to each day’s fresh seafood deliveries, in keeping with McCormick & Schmick’s tradition of offering only the freshest seafood available in season. The menu’s “Fresh List” showcases a selection of more than 30 seafood varieties in fresh that day. Examples of menu items include Alaska halibut, gulf snapper Pontchartrain, aqua culture Atlantic salmon and an array of North Atlantic cold water fresh oysters. The restaurant’s wait staff is renowned for their encyclopedic seafood knowledge. In addition to being a seafood leader in quality, variety, preparation and service, McCormick & Schmick's menu features a generous amount of perfectly aged Midwestern beef, poultry, entrée salads and pasta, all focused on fresh ingredients. The restaurant’s commitment to freshness continues in its full-service bar where all juices are fresh squeezed and cocktails are hand shaken, in the tradition of classic mixology. The restaurant’s bar, which showcases an assortment of top-shelf liquors including a world renowned scotch collection, also features the famous McCormick & Schmick's $1.95 bar food menu, recognized in many cities across the country with awards and accolades. McCormick and Schmick’s new Executive Chef at the Houston Pavilion’s will be Chef Doug Pollard who brings years of experience and a fresh approach to the table. After graduating from Johnson & Whales University, Pollard gained experience serving as executive chef at The State Grille, Hotel Derek, and Damian’s Cucina Italiana, among other places in Houston. Pollard’s culinary creativity will shine on the constantly updated menu. “McCormick & Schmick’s has excelled in the restaurant industry by securing vendors from both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, allowing our chefs to provide the freshest seafood from around the world, as well as from local suppliers,” said Pollard. “At the end of the day I can feel a great sense of accomplishment, because I know that we have provided our guests with the freshest seafood; that has become the foundation of our dynamic menu.” McCormick & Schmick’s Houston Pavilions restaurant was designed in a traditional style that brings its classic appeal to a modern setting.
