Gente de Teatro (GdT), a non-profit organization founded in 1995, is a highly motivated and vibrant Houston-based theater organization. It is run by seven talented artists, performing in many capacities, who devote their energy to bringing the passion and emotion of Latin American and Spanish theater to Houston audiences.

Gente de Teatro is committed to promoting Latin American and Spanish culture through the work of native playwrights such as José Ignacio Cabrujas, Roberto Cossa, Ariel Dorfman, Griselda Gambaro, Carmen Pombero, Eduardo Rovner, and Mario Vargas Llosa among others.  All performances are in Spanish, although recent initiatives include English surtitles.
