Jones Hall Does Some Redecorating

Jones Hall announced in October that it would undergo a little redecorating after Houston City Council approved an agreement with Core Design Studio to design and install two pieces of art that will adorn the walls in the building corridors.

One of the artworks will be a timeline of Jones Hall’s history. Using information provided by Houston Endowment, Houston Symphony, Society for Performing Arts and previous performers, the timeline tells the story of Jones Hall from its conception, groundbreaking, past performances and notable moments in the facility’s history.

The second piece of art will be a tribute to the legacy of Jesse Jones. Using photos and stories provided by Steven Fenberg of Houston Endowment, this wall will include stories of his life, his time in politics and his philanthropic ideals.

Installation will begin this month and should be complete by May.
