    I have to admit, I was a little weary of the Sunday Streets HTX pilot program that the City of Houston Health Department was heading up.  I’m usually not a huge fan of closing streets, but I went along and supported as it was only a “pilot” program and if didn’t work out, not a huge deal.  After participating in yesterday’s event on Wash Ave/Market Square, the last one of the three, I’m now a fan!

    We were thrilled this week that City Council unanimously voted to expand the Downtown Living Initiative (DLI) from a cap of 2,500 residential units to 5,000 units by June30, 2016.

    The DLI is a program that incorporates financial and other benefits to assist in the development of mixed use residential development.   I know there are many folks out there that do not feel that it should be necessary to incentivize development.  But, the bottom line is land values west of U.S. Route 59 are prohibitively expensive to ...

    We recently got a backstage tour of the House of Blues in downtown Houston and of course it was just as amazing as any music lover would imagine it to be. House of Blues is home to a two-story Music Hall, the intimate Bronze Peacock Room, the Foundation Room and the Crossroads Restaurant and Bar. While many people have been to concerts at the popular music venue very few are aware its history, the uniquely decorative features, or the new and exciting events happening there weekly.
