Explore Houston’s Historic District with friends and neighbors at the 4th Annual A Night at Market Square on Saturday, October 13 from 6-10 p.m. Take the opportunity to sample beverages and bites from the area’s diverse and eclectic restaurant and bar scene, and enjoy the sounds of one-man funk band Henry + the Invisibles and featuring New Orleans’ Royal Teeth at the heart of the Historic District - Market Square Park.
“A Night at Market Square continues to grow and showcases everything downtown’s Historic District has to offer,” said Angie Bertinot, director of marketing and communications for the Downtown District. “This annual event allows the district’s businesses to remind Houstonians of the many wonderful entertainment options located in and around Market Square.”
This year, be sure to check out a special FotoFest exhibit MUM by Nancy Newberry and Technicolor Life by Bill McCullough located at 214 Travis; learn more about living downtown at Heritage Texas Properties’ Open House; get up-close-and-personal with the Glo N Go Illuminated Art Car Procession; and even do a little shopping at Urban Izzy’s Mobile Boutique. Furry friends can also join in the fun with Barnaby’s Paw Parade and Costume Contest. Let your pup strut down the ‘dog walk’ for a chance to win fabulous pet pampering prizes. For those wanting to keep the party going after hours, don’t miss the OKRA After Party at The Cotton Exchange which will be a fundraiser for their Original Charity Saloon opening later this year.
Area businesses also participating include Hearsay, Niko Niko’s, Georgia’s Market, CharBar, Warren’s, La Carafe, Spaghetti Warehouse, Macondo Latin Bistro, Notsuoh, Dean’s Credit Clothing, Market Square Bar & Grill, Mia Bella, Frank’s Pizza and Hotel Icon’s Line & Lariat.
