Reach for the Stars is a homage to Houston’s history in the space program and features four different astronauts at play in front of a colorful galaxy backdrop.

Samara Barks, aka Sam, hails from the city of Detriot, but has called East Austin home for the last four years. She's an accomplished 3D artist and illustrator who works as as a fulltime freelance designer, illustrator, and muralist under her own company, Mixed Hues, which she created Mixed Hues to fill a very real need of seeing more representation of women of color in two communities she's passionate about: art and roller derby. Sam thrives on making art that adds a smile, a hint of beauty or a warm feeling, and is working on creating more public art pieces in and around her community.
