The Houston Rockets are a professional basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association. The Rockets play in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. The team currently plays its home games in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

The franchise was founded in 1967 in San Diego, California when the team was the San Diego Rockets. In 1970, the team moved to Houston but kept the name Rockets.

In the history of the franchise, the Rockets have won a total of four division titles in 1977, 1986, 1993, and 1994. They have also won four conference titles in 1981, 1986, 1994, and 1995. The Houston Rockets won the franchise's only two NBA Championships in back-to-back seasons in 1994 and 1995.
