Cupid’s holiday is around the corner and we’re helping you plan the perfect Valentine’s Day itinerary with a guide to all things love, love, LOVE in the heart of Downtown.
Find Something Special for Your Someone Special
While romantic gestures go a long way on any occasion, there’s something extra warm and fuzzy that comes with receiving a sweet bouquet of roses, a dozen chocolate covered strawberries or a Hallmark love note on Valentine’s Day. Lucky for you, Downtown shops like Greenworks Flowers (inside the tunnels) and Edible Arrangements over in the Historic District (225 Main) make it easier to spoil your loved ones. You can even find the most endearing cards, heart-shaped balloons, and "Be Mine" gifts at the Hallmark store located inside the Shops at Houston Center. You’ll definitely want to swing by between February 7-9 to peruse through a unique selection of designs and Valentine specials at the shop's V-Day Pop-Up market from 10 am- 3 pm.
For those with sweet tooth cravings, perhaps Treebeard's red velvet cake or a few sugar heart cookies will be a better fix. Simply place your order before 2 pm on February 13, and you’ll be good to go!
Treat Your Sweetheart to an Unforgettable Night in Downtown
Make your Valentine’s Day a memorable one by treating your sweetheart to an unforgettable night in Downtown Houston. Get your date night started with dinner and a view at Spindletop, Hyatt Regency’s remarkable seafood restaurant, complimented perfectly with picturesque 360-views of Downtown. The restaurant will be offering a special Valentine's menu from February 13-17 featuring Crab Bisque, Butternut Squash & Sage Ravioli, and other exquisite entrees sure to excite more than just your taste buds.
Looking for something more interactive? Keep the spark (and laughter) alive at the Dinner Detective’s Interactive Murder Mystery Show. The special Valentine’s edition will put your heart to the test as you and your date solve a hilarious crime of passion over dinner. The comedy show takes place at the Doubletree by Hilton and tickets start at $55 per person for their February 14 & 17 show.
Bring sexy back and move to the beat of your heart at Sambuca’s Valentine’s Dinner & Live Music. The award-winning New Orleans duo, Kim Prevost and Bill Solley Band will be setting the mood on February 14 as guests indulge in a savory 3-course meal starting with the first seating at 5:30 pm and the last one at 9 pm. After a little dinner and dancing, watch a show in the Theather District or take a romantic stroll through Discovery Green’s "Hello Trees!" art installation and observe as the words “I love you” magically transform into colorful light patterns and music.
Make it a Romantic Staycation
Downtown’s booming hospitality scene makes it easy to turn Valentine’s Day into a multi-day occasion. This year, guests at the Four Seasons Hotel can expect nothing short of a romantic experience with a decadent four-course dinner for two at Quattro, love-inducing Spa treatments such as their Love Potion Massage and Be Adored Facial, and an overnight stay in the hotel’s luxurious suites. Dinner starts at $140 per couple and rates vary for the couple's spa treatments.
Romance packages at Hotel Alessandra will also let your love bloom this Valentine’s Day with luxurious accommodations for two, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon arrival, and a $60 food & beverage breakfast credit. Oh, and the hotel's lovely staff will make you feel extra special too!
If a retro 70's vibe is more your style, rekindle your romance at Le Meridien. The destination's Valentine's package includes an overnight stay in an upgraded King Suite, a bottle of champagne with strawberries, and breakfast for two at the reputable Oxbow7. Trust us when we say that you’ll have no problem wooing your honey this Valentine’s Day!
