Keeping up with all the things to do in Houston can be a bit of a feat at times. Thankfully, we’ve compiled a list of major “Downtown Weekends” to dub as unforgettable staycations, so you won’t find yourself scrolling through Instagram and saying “oh, shoot, I forgot that event was this weekend!”

4th OF JULY WEEKEND 📅: July 1-4

Fri, Jul 1: Get connected to some of Houston’s most creative artists with a one-of-a-kind All Access Art Market featuring art inspired by H-town in this “713-themed” curated art experience at Finn Hall.

Sat, Jul 2: Take a moment and wind down before the Independence Day celebrations commence with a free yoga session on POST HTX’s Skylawn. After, gear up for America’s favorite pastime at Minute Maid Park, as you watch the Astros go head-to-head with the Los Angeles Angels.

Sun, Jul 3:  Grab a delicious Sunday brunch at Osso & Kristalla and then race to PNC Stadium to keep the energy high as you root the Dynamo to victory in a game against Charlotte FC.

Mon, Jul 4: Ring in the festivities with Mayor Turner at the Freedom over Texas 4th of July Celebration. Wear your red, white and blue at City Hall and enjoy music, a free kid’s zone and a fireworks finale to help your stars and stripes last forever!


Fri, July 15: Start your staycation with a screening of There’s Something About Mary at Market Square Park. After, raise a glass to an unforgettable weekend at Zenaku, Downtown’s new anime-themed night club!
