Economic Development

The Downtown Houston+ Economic Development Program (EDP) leads work to support the health and vitality of Downtown’s dynamic markets, including office, retail, hospitality, residential, entertainment/tourism and new development.

Key components of the EDP include the Research + Reports Program and support for the retail sector. Retail work includes focused incentives as well as recruitment and retention strategies. The EDP coordinates with the Planning & Capital Projects team to advance the economic benefits of near-term and long-range planning.

Downtown Houston+’s active collaborations with the City of Houston, Harris County, Houston-Galveston Area Council, Greater Houston Partnership, Houston First Corporation, Houston Management Districts, and Downtown-based economic development drivers are core to the EDP team mission.
